He and Lillian have been honored by Israel Bonds and he was a Brotherhood Man of the Year, a tradition he earlier started at Temple Emeth. The tradition of the Man of the Year includes a round of songs written to roast the recipient. The songs written for Richard by Norma Levine included: “Email Now” and “We are the Brotherhood of Men”.
Richard serves on the board of Hebrew College in Newton, Camp Ramah in Palmer, and Mercaz, and continues his support for Israel Bonds as a Co-Chairman at Temple Emeth. He participated in a most inspiring World Zionist Organization Congress in Jerusalem in June 2006 as an alternate delegate.
Richard's parents were holocaust survivors from Gottingen and Frankfurt Germany. After being brought up in Hollywood, Florida he attended MIT and Penn State with degrees in Mechanical Engineering, and worked over two decades at Millipore Corporation developing new test equipment and processes.
Richard's passions are for geeking, organizing teams, desktop publishing, photography, and sailing, while enjoying his wife Lillian and daughters Rebecca and Jessica as they find their way through life.
