FEDERATION OF JEWISH MEN’S CLUBS’ 2019 CONVENTION

REGISTRATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.        REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT.  Submission of an online registration for the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs’ (“FJMC”) 2019 Convention (“Convention”) is regarded as a firm commitment to attend the Convention and also full and complete acceptance of all of the Terms and Conditions contained herein by you and also by anyone who registered with you or by you, including, but not limited to, your spouse, children or other relatives, friends, and/or companions (collectively “Registrant” or “you”).

Your Registration will not be guaranteed or confirmed until full payment has been received.  Payment in full must be received no later than June 19, 2019 or else your Registration may be cancelled, subject to the Cancellation policy in paragraph 2, below.  In the event that full payment is not timely received, the Registrant will be refused entry to the Convention.

1.1        Late Fees.  Registration on or after June 3, 2019 is subject to a $100 non-refundable late fee.

2.        CANCELLATION BY YOU.  Any Registrant wishing to cancel their Registration must notify the FJMC in writing at Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs, Attention: Convention Cancellation, 475 Riverside Drive, Suite 820, New York, NY 10115-0022 or via email to .  The date when the email or writing is received, whichever is earlier, will be considered the date of the cancellation.

If you Cancel your Convention Registration, Cancellation charges will apply as follows:

On or before April 15, 2019, the FJMC will refund 80% of the registration fee less any credit card, bank, transfer, or other fees incurred by the FJMC for the Registration.

On or before May 1, 2019, the FJMC will refund 50% of the registration fee less any credit card, bank, transfer, or other fees incurred by the FJMC for the Registration.

On or before June 1, 2019FJMC will refund 25% of the registration fee less any credit card, bank, transfer, or other fees incurred by the FJMC for the Registration.

There will be no refunds for any cancellation on or after June 2, 2019, which also includes anyone who does not arrive at, or come to, the Convention after registering.

No refunds will be given for unattended events or early termination of attendance, in case of cancellation of speakers, lack of space in any room, or any other incidents during the Convention.

SUBSTITUTIONS.  If your Registration was paid in full, and, you are unable to attend the Convention, you may substitute someone else to attend for you. If you wish to make such a substitution, you must notify the FJMC, in writing at Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs, Convention Cancellation, 475 Riverside Drive, Suite 820, New York, NY 10115-0022 or via email to , at the earliest opportunity and at least on or before July 1, 2019.  There may be a US$ 100.00 charge for making a substitution.

3.        CANCELLATION BY THE FJMC.  In the event that the Convention cannot be held or is postponed due to events beyond the control of the FJMC, its directors, officers, members, leadership, employees, agents, staff, attorneys, sponsors, speakers, presenters, exhibitors, affiliates, and/or any other person or entity associated with the FJMC and/or the Convention (force majeure) or due to events which are not attributable to wrongful intent or gross negligence of the FJMC, its directors, officers, members, leadership, employees, agents, staff, attorneys, sponsors, speakers, presenters, exhibitors, affiliates, and/or any other person or entity associated with the FJMC and/or the Convention liability will be limited to the amount of the Registration fee actually paid by the Registrant.  There will not be any additional liability by the FJMC, its directors, officers, members, leadership, employees, agents, staff, attorneys, sponsors, speakers, presenters, exhibitors, affiliates, and/or any other person or entity associated with the FJMC and/or the Convention for any damages, costs, or losses incurred, such as transportation costs, accommodation costs, incidental and/or consequential damages, financial losses, and any and all other losses and/or damages of any type whatsoever.

Under these circumstances, the FJMC reserves the right to either: (a) retain the entire registration fee and credit it towards a future FJMC Convention; (b) reimburse the Registrant what was paid for the Registration, less costs already incurred for the organization of the Convention and which could not be recovered from third parties; or, (c) refund the Registration fees paid, less a 25% administration fee and any credit card, bank, transfer or other fees incurred by the FJMC for the Registration.

In the unlikely event that the Convention is cancelled by the FJMC for reasons that are within its control, a full refund will be made to the Registrant.  Liability for any such cancellation will be limited to the amount of the fee paid for the Registration and there will not be any additional liability for any damages, costs, or losses incurred, such as transportation costs, accommodation costs, incidental and/or consequential damages, financial losses, and any and all other losses and/or damages of any type whatsoever by the FJMC, its directors, officers, members, leadership, employees, agents, staff, attorneys, sponsors, speakers, presenters, exhibitors, affiliates, and/or any other person or entity associated with the FJMC and/or the Convention and/or the Westin Harbor Castle Hotel, and/or any other person or entity associated with the FJMC and/or the Convention.

4.        PRIVACY.  The personal information supplied in connection with your Registration will be held by the FJMC as a record of attendees.  By registering for this Convention you are agreeing that the FJMC and its affiliates may use that personal information to contact you by email, direct mail, telephone or fax, in order to supply information relevant to this Convention, or about other conferences, events and opportunities that the FJMC is planning and feel may be of interest to you.  You also agree that the information you provided, including, but not limited to, your name, address, telephone number and picture may be put on a badge and/or name tag that you will be required to wear during the Convention for admission and that such badge and/or name tag will be able to be seen by other Registrants, as well as the general public.

5.        CHANGES AND POSTPONEMENT.  The FJMC reserves the right to make alterations to the Convention program, venue, speakers, presenters, and/or timings at any time. In the event of it being found necessary, for whatever reason, that the Convention is being postponed or the dates are changed, the FJMC, its directors, officers, members, leadership, employees, agents, staff, attorneys, sponsors, speakers, presenters, exhibitors, affiliates, and/or any other person or entity associated with the FJMC and/or the Convention shall not be liable for any expenditure, damage(s), and/or loss incurred by the Registrant.  If by re-arrangement or postponement the event can take place, the registration between the Registrant and the FJMC shall remain in force and will be subject to the “Cancellation by You” in Paragraph 2, above.

6.        LIABILITY.  All Registrants agree that the FJMC, its directors, officers, members, leadership, employees, agents, staff, attorneys, sponsors, speakers, presenters, exhibitors, affiliates, and/or any other person or entity associated with the FJMC and/or the Convention agree that neither the FJMC nor any of its directors, officers, members, leadership, employees, agents, staff, attorneys, sponsors, speakers, presenters, exhibitors, affiliates, and/or any other person or entity associated with the FJMC and/or the Convention assumes any liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss(es) or damage(s) of any sort incurred as the result of any services, goods, and/or information provided to the Registrant.

Views expressed by speakers, presenters, sponsors, and/or exhibitors are their own.  The FJMC cannot accept liability for any advice given, or views expressed, by any speaker, presenter, sponsor, and/or exhibitor at the Convention or in any material provided to Registrants.

7.        INSURANCE.  It is the responsibility of the Registrant to arrange appropriate insurance coverage in connection with their attendance at the Convention, including, but not limited to Travel Insurance, Health Insurance, Property Insurance, and Liability Insurance.  The Registration does not include any Insurance, which must be obtained separately by any Registrant wishing to obtain any such coverage.

The FJMC, its directors, officers, members, leadership, employees, agents, staff, attorneys, sponsors, speakers, presenters, exhibitors, affiliates, and/or any other person or entity associated with the FJMC and/or the Convention cannot be held liable for any loss, liability or damage to any person and/or personal property.

8.        VISA REQUIREMENT.  It is the sole responsibility of the Registrant to take care of his/her visa requirements, if any.  Registrants who require an entry visa must allow sufficient time for the application procedure.  Registrants should contact the nearest embassy or consulate to determine the appropriate timing of their applications. Any refunds due to a Registrant not being able to obtain a Visa or entry into Canada for any reason will be subject to the “Cancellation By You” provisions in Paragraph 2, above.

9.        PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEO RECORDING.  Photographs, audio, and/or video recordings will be taken during the Convention.  By attending any part of the Convention, Registrants are consenting to being recorded and/or photographed and that such recordings and/or photographs can be used by the FJMC without compensation or remuneration to Registrant.  You further assign to the FJMC the copyright, performers’ property rights and all other rights in any filming, recording or photography of you at the Convention for use in all media; and that the FJMC may edit, adapt or translate any photographs or recordings of you.

10.      SPEAKER TERMS & CONDITIONS.  The FJMC may use the speaker’s name and presentation materials for promoting attendance at the Convention.  The FJMC may audio and/or video record the speaker’s session and the recording may be reproduced.

11.      WEBSITE & LINKS.  The Convention and associated FJMC websites may link to other websites and networking tools provided for the  convenience of  the users. The contents of these websites are maintained by their owners, for which the FJMC takes no responsibility.  The FJMC, its directors, officers, members, leadership, employees, agents, staff, attorneys, sponsors, speakers, presenters, exhibitors, affiliates, and/or any other person or entity associated with the FJMC and/or the Convention do not take responsibility for contents of any website linking to this, or, any other FJMC or Convention website.

12.      GENERAL.   The FJMC reserves the right at all times to change, amend, add or remove any of the above terms without prior notice.  If one or more of the terms and or conditions outlined in these Terms & Conditions should be or become invalid, the remaining conditions will continue to be valid and apply. These Terms & Conditions apply to all participants of this event, including all Attendees, Registrants, Speakers, Presenters, Sponsors and Exhibitors.
